ई-कॉमर्स कंपनी अमेजन के CEO एंडी जेसी ने खुलासा किया है कि कंपनी 2023 तक कर्मचारियों को निकालना जारी रखेगी। अमेजन ने छंटनी की प्रोसेस इस हफ्ते की शुरुआत में शुरू की थी, तब कंपनी ने अनाउंसमेंट की थी कि वे डिवाइसेस और बुक्स बिजनेस से कर्मचारियों को निकाल रहे हैं।

अब जस्सी ने बताया कि आगे और भी ज्यादा छंटनी होगी, क्योंकि अमेजन की एनुअल प्लानिंग प्रोसेस अगले साल तक की है। अमेजन के लीडर्स कई लेवलों पर रोल डिडक्शन शुरू करने के लिए वर्कफोर्स को एनालाइज करेंगे।

इसके अलावा जस्सी ने दावा किया कि कंपनी के छंटनी के फैसले से प्रभावित कर्मचारियों को 2023 की शुरुआत में सूचित किया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा, 'छंटनी के फैसलों को 2023 की शुरुआत में प्रभावित कर्मचारियों और ऑर्गेनाइजेशन के साथ शेयर किया जाएगा। हमने अभी तक यह निष्कर्ष नहीं निकाला है कि छंटनी में कितने अन्य रोल्स प्रभावित होंगी।'

इससे पहले कंपनी के हार्डवेयर चीफ डेव लिम्प ने बुधवार को छंटनी की अनाउंसमेंट की थी। तब उन्होंने कहा था, 'हम असामान्य और अनिश्चित मैक्रोइकोनॉमिक एनवॉयरनमेंट का सामना कर रहे हैं। ऐसे में रिव्यू के बाद, हमने हाल ही में कुछ टीमों और प्रोग्राम को कंसॉलिडेट करने का निर्णय लिया है। इस कारण अब हमें कुछ पोजिशन्स की आवश्यकता नहीं होगी।'

लिम्प ने कहा था, 'मुझे यह खबर देते हुए बहुत दुख हो रहा है क्योंकि हम जानते हैं कि इसके परिणामस्वरूप हम डिवाइसेस एंड सर्विसेज डिवीजन से प्रतिभाशाली अमेजोनियन खो देंगे।' उन्होंने कि कंपनी ने प्रभावित कर्मचारियों को इसकी जानकारी दे दी है और नई नौकरी खोजने में सहायता करने सहित अन्य सहायता देने के लिए प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के साथ मिलकर काम करना जारी रखेंगे।'

अमेजन के इतिहास की सबसे बड़ी छंटनी
न्यूयॉर्क टाइम्स ने इस हफ्ते एक स्प्रेड ट्रेडिंग और मैक्रोइकोनॉमिक कारक रिपोर्ट पब्लिश की थी जिसमें कहा गया था कि अमेजन 10,स्प्रेड ट्रेडिंग और मैक्रोइकोनॉमिक कारक 000 कर्मचारियों की छंटनी का प्लान बना रहा है। अमेजन के पास 31 दिसंबर 2021 के आंकड़े के मुताबिक 16 लाख से जयादा फुल टाइम और पार्ट टाइम एम्प्लॉइ हैं। 10 हजार कर्मचारियों की छंटनी अमेजन के इतिहास में सबसे बड़ी छंटनी है। छंटनी का कारण आर्थिक मंदी के कारण कॉस्ट कटिंग को बताया गया है।
